I’m an electrical engineer by profession but somehow fell in love with computers. So I went ahead and did a computer course called ‘Diploma in Advanced Computing’.
Nowadays I earn my bread and butter by looking after the quality of a software product. A product that promises to automate data center administration. To test this software we have a 50 machine test lab comprising of various linux and hardware combinations. And I pretend to look after the lab as a sysadmin so that I can keep on doing my linux experiments there.
At home I work on a Core2Duo/1.73 GHz/1GB RAM/160GB HDD laptop with many linux distros running on my virtual box. I normally prefer any RPM based distro like RedHat/Fedora/Centos etc. But I’ve played a lot with Ubuntu as well. I like the ‘Damn Small Linux’ and Puppy linux also, since they do not require much resources and are ideal for my virtual network on virtual box.
